A room parent at your school would like to use Honor the Class for their class's photos. Here is what it is, and how it protects your students.
What it is
A shared photo album for one class for one school year. Parents add the photos they already take at school occasions (the first day, the Halloween parade, the holiday program). The room parent sends each occasion as a short slideshow to the class's families. It asks nothing of teachers.
How students are protected
- Never public. Only families holding the class link can see it. Nothing is listed in search engines.
- Your photo release is respected. Any child whose family hasn't agreed can be marked "never show": every photo of them is held back, everywhere, automatically.
- No location data. Phone photos carry GPS; it is removed from every photo before storage.
- No face recognition. Parents tag who is in a photo by hand.
- No accounts for children. Children never sign up or post. There are no ads and nothing is sold.
- Families can limit it. A class can be visible to its own families only, or to families across the school.
- Easy removal. The room parent removes any photo at any time; any family can ask us to remove their child.
What we ask of the school
Nothing, beyond your blessing. If you'd like, tell us your school's photo-release rules and we will help the room parent apply them.
